Megan Miller graduated from Iowa State University in May of 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with endorsements in Special Education. She began her teaching career at Hanawalt in 2014. Megan enjoys working in first grade because she loves to see the growth that students make through the year! Megan is married and lives in Des Moines with her husband, Bradley. Together, they enjoy watching & attending hockey games, rollerblading, and traveling.
Mrs. Nordmeyer has taught at Hanawalt since 2005. Previously, she taught in the West Des Moines, Jesup, and Perry School Districts. Her undergraduate and graduate degrees in education are from the University of Northern Iowa. She lives in Des Moines with her husband and sons who attended the Des Moines Public Schools. She is excited to be a part of the Hanawalt community.
This is Gwen Roth-Rauen’s fifth year at Hanawalt. She has been teaching well over twenty years, primarily in Kindergarten, but in other grades as well. She has been a nurse for 31 years and keeps her license current to stay on top of current areas of child development and for further education. She has two grown sons, Michael, 23, Zachary, 22 and a Roosevelt Freshman, Sophia. She lives in Des Moines’ Beaverdale neighborhood with Sophia, Zach, two large dogs and two large Tomcats. Ms. Roth loves her job and thanks all the Hanawalt families, students and staff for this amazing experience every day!
