P: 242-6397 | E: scot.surprenant@dmschools.org

Scot is bringing over twenty years of experience in education to Hanawalt, with the last 11 being in the Des Moines Public School District.  His educational journey started in his hometown of Denison, IA where he taught elementary.  His tenure in Des Moines Public has consisted of stints at Goodrell and Harding Middle Schools.  The last two years were spent being an Instructional Technology Coordinator for the district.  This has prepared him for meeting the needs of students in Hanawalt's first Media Technology Teacher.  He is an alumi of the University of Northern Iowa, his wife is currently a behavior interventionist at Harding, they have 4 children, and he is a die-hard fan of the Chicago Cubs.
