Breakfast Free For All Students This Year


We’re pleased to tell you every Des Moines Public Schools elementary student will now have access to breakfast at no cost to the students or their families. This expansion means almost every school in the district offers at least one no-cost meal option during the day. Virtual Backpack Replaces Paper Flyers


No more pulling crumpled paper flyers from your student’s backpack! Opportunities in the community will now be available online, instead of jumbled up with homework and artwork. Longer School Day for 17.18 School Year


Our school hours are changing for the 17/18 school year.  Bell hours will be from 8:15-3:10. Wednesday Early out will be from 8:15-1:40. Students may enter the building at 7:45 am. 3rd Grade To World Food Prize


Our third graders are in the middle of an integrated unit about Iowa manufacturing , producing and consuming.  The World Food Prize was a perfect trip to add to their understanding of Iowa economy and the impact Iowans and others  have had on World hunger.

We know that when we practice Habit 1 we have the choice to make our own weather. We can choose to be happy and sunny or unhappy and cloudy. Choose Happy!

Des Moines Public Schools uses Infinite Campus as its web-based student information system. The service allows students and parents/guardians to access academic information and other student records.
