Hanawalt was designated a “Mix it Up” Model School by the Southern Poverty Law Center. It is one of 76 schools nationwide and the only Iowa school to receive the honor. Hanawalt Elementary School students put away their books, limbered up and pulled out the craft supplies for a day of fun.
