Hanawalt Honored for Tolerance Efforts
Hanawalt was designated a “Mix it Up” Model School by the Southern Poverty Law Center. It is one of 76 schools nationwide and the only Iowa school to receive the honor. The group called Hanawalt’s efforts “refreshing” and “extraordinary.” To read more about the effort to break down the barriers between students so there are fewer misunderstandings that can lead to conflicts, bullying and harassment, click on the picture.
“It’s the best day ever!” at Hanawalt Elementary
Hanawalt Elementary School students put away their books, limbered up and pulled out the craft supplies for a day of fun.
