Letter from Mr. Burg for 2015-2016 School Year

Dear Hanawalt Families,

Thank you for the support and advocacy you consistently demonstrate for your student’s education. Your on-going commitment makes a tangible difference for your student, the classroom, and the entire Hanawalt community. It is a significant objective of all staff to work collaboratively to construct class lists that take full advantage of the unique abilities of students while supporting Hanawalt’s collective vision of providing a model community of learning. Classroom placement for 2015-2016 will be based on class lists prepared by grade level teachers with support from non-classroom teachers and certified by administration. Class lists are typically posted 2-3 weeks prior to the first day of school at the main entrance. There is a significant amount of effort involved in this annual process. Hanawalt has a history and expectation of high-quality instruction and learning within every classroom. While teacher requests from parents are not granted at Hanawalt, teachers are fully committed to the success of each student which includes the careful production of an effective class roster that enables the highest of academic and social standards for students. As we begin to plan for the upcoming year, thank you again for the unwavering engagement you exhibit in the life of your child which assists Hanawalt in remaining a model community of learning.
