October Celebration Ushers in Read-a-thon start!

Hanawalt students staff gathered in the gym on Friday, October 25th for their first Celebration assembly. Student leaders presented the first 3 habits of Leader in Me which included: be proactive,  begin with the end in mind, and put first things first. All three of these habits create the framework around what we are doing on an everyday basis with out students. These include, but are not limited to, Focus 5, our Soaring Hawks, and the Read-a-thon!

The celebration also ushered in an opportunity to kick off our 2nd annual Read-a-thon. The Read-a-thon officially starts on November 6th. The fundraiser will end on November 26th with a celebration and an all school assembly. Each student will be able to wear a costume representing their favorite book character that day!
